ORPRN is a statewide network of primary care clinicians, community partners, and academicians dedicated to studying the delivery of health care to rural residents and to reducing rural health disparities.
Our studies use implementation science and knowledge transfer methods to transform rural health care delivery.
ORPRN is working with 7 clinics to develop and test an innovative approach for overcoming barriers to cancer screening among women with physical disabilities in rural Oregon. Many studies have shown that people with disabilities receive fewer cancer screening services and are more likely to have poor cancer-related outcomes compared to those without disabilities.
This study includes a partnership between rural primary care clinics and community-based organizations that advocate for people with disabilities.
