The Oregon Office of Rural Health (ORH) Recruitment Services assists hospitals, clinics and practices in recruiting primary care and specialty providers, as well as allied healthcare professionals, by providing information directly to candidates interested in practicing in rural Oregon.
Candidates will no longer have to go through us to hear about you. They will now have direct access to your practice opportunity via the Internet, and their initial contact will be directly with you.
Your practice opportunity will get national exposure when it is posted on National Rural Recruitment and Retention Network (3RNet) organization website. Each state has only one 3RNet member and the ORH is that member for Oregon. The 3Rnet has been the #1 source of candidates for the ORH. This Internet exposure will yield a greater number of potential candidates.
Rural Oregon facilities may list one or more practice opportunities with our Recruitment Service registering as an employer at www.3RNet.org, and completing the ‘Add an Opportunity’ form (select from right menu) and submitting to our office for posting. We will assist you in developing a posted opportunity that will attract appropriate candidates prior to posting on-line. Candidates’ initial contact will now be made directly with your office and with the HR representative of your choice. Additional assistance to rural facilities is available. For example, needs assessment assistance to support your recruitment efforts; recruitment and retention plan development; community involvement; general recruitment and retention services. We are here to help you recruit and retain health care providers.
We can provide a report of candidates who have registered on the 3Rnet site and expressed an interest in Oregon opportunities so that you may contact them directly when you have dedicated time to do so which will maximize your ROI. There is a nominal annual calendar year posting fee. The earlier in the year you post your needs, the greater the value of your investment and the more exposure to potential candidates. You will be invoiced upon activation of the posting.

The ORH Recruitment Service also offers technical assistance related to the recruitment and retention of providers. Successful recruitment requires a multifaceted approach, and we will assist you in developing a recruitment strategy that is comprehensive and fits your particular situation. Community participation is often crucial in recruiting and retaining providers; we can also help you form an effective community-based recruitment and retention committee. The majority of this assistance can be done over the telephone or via e-mail, but our staff is eager to travel to your community whenever feasible.
