The Oregon Office of Rural Health is charged with administering several programs for qualifying providers state-wide. These programs range from Recruitment and Retention of health-care providers to the administration of Tax Credits. Brief descriptions of each program can be found below. Emergency Medical Services
The Oregon Office of Rural Health supports Oregon's rural EMS agencies in meeting their mission and the needs of their communities. As part of the mission of the Flex Program our office is dedicated to helping rural communities improve their access to quality Emergency Medical Services.

Practice Opportunities & Recruitment Services
The Oregon Office of Rural Health Recruitment Service currently assists rural communities to recruit primary health and specialty providers. Active opportunity information is posted on the Oregon page of the national Rural Recruitment and Retention Network website – www.3RNet.org – with full information available for your review and direct facility contact information included. New information is posted as it becomes available so please do check this site regularly. Provider Tax Credits
Oregon's Legislature passed SB 438 in 1989, creating the Rural Practitioner Tax Credit (up to $5,000 per year), SB 31 in 2005, creating the Volunteer EMT Tax Credit (up to $250 per year), and in 2007, the TRICARE Tax Benefit. The Oregon Office of Rural Health is proud to be charged with the administration of these programs.
