Education Manager - Statewide

The Education Manager has the principle responsibility of education and support to the ORHQN member hospitals. Reporting to the ORHQN Executive Director, this position is an opportunity to make a difference!

  • Provide education and technical assistance to rural hospitals, rural clinics, rural healthcare providers and other rural stakeholders on a wide variety of topics by phone and face to face.
  • Coordinate all aspects of trainings and deliver presentations to network members and assist with training as necessary.
  • Coordinate and host small and large group regional meetings, conference calls and webinars on topics such as quality improvement, financial and operational improvement, health system development, community engagement, health information technology (HIT), networking and leadership.
  • Coordinate new trainings as needed and developed to support network members and their affiliated clinics.
  • Continually monitor training and education needs of member hospitals.
  • Support ORHQN leadership in Annual Membership meeting, list management, grant application, dues tracking and other duties as necessary.

Position is benefitted .75 FTE. Position has remote, home-based potential, current headquarter offices are in Central Oregon.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Health Administration, Health Education, Business or closely related field.
  • At least four years of experience in health or human services delivery, health or community planning and development, hospital administration, healthcare management, health education, public health or a related area.
  • Knowledge of rural health issues desired.
  • Ability to work with groups, excellent interpersonal skills, effective written and oral communication skills, including facilitation and presentation, required.
  • Ability to travel within the State of Oregon and potentially nationally required.
  • Experience and comfort with all aspects of Windows based programs and presentation capabilities for trainings.
  • The successful candidate should be a team player, capable of significant independent decision-making and able to support program coordination.
  • The candidate must be a proficient communicator and listener, and possess excellent presentation, organization, public speaking and relationship-building skills.
