Licensed health providers have free access to info resources
A variety of information resources are available to all licensed health providers around the state through the OHSU Library. That means nurses, doctors, physician assistants and paramedics, among others, can sign up for tools to access journal articles, electronic books, patient education material and evidence-based point of care information without a fee. Those tools include PubMed, MedlinePlus, DynaMed, STAT!Ref and EBSCO Medline with Full-Text.
Upon gaining licensure all health providers are eligible for these free resources, but not all are aware of their availability. OHSU librarians are working to change that with awareness promotions and training around the state. Theyve visited clinics and hospitals in Bend, Christmas Valley, Burns, Ontario, Baker City, Enterprise, The Dalles, Heppner, Salem, Lincoln City, Reedsport and Coos Bay so far.
More than 125 health practitioners have participated in these sessions and the OHSU Library continues to see growing interest. More information on accessing the tools is available. Or, contact Todd Hannon (email@example.com / 503.494.3474) to arrange for a training session for health care providers in your community.
