Outreach

Through a network of partnerships, OHSU is enhancing community-based care, serving Oregon’s most vulnerable citizens, increasing access to healthcare education, and bringing groundbreaking health research to rural communities. With more than 200 community service programs already in place, OHSU is improving the well-being of people across Oregon and throughout the region.

10th Annual OHSU Multicultural Health, Science & Engineering Career Conference

The Center for Diversity and Multicultural Affairs in collaboration with the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, and Nursing; Science & Engineering and Allied Health programs, and College of Pharmacy (in conjunction with OSU) invite college students interested in pursuing a career in the health care and science professions to attend our 10th Annual Health, Science, and Engineering Career Conference. 

 

Conference Objectives: 

·         Encourage diverse students to enter the health and science professions.

·         Provide students with insight on health care and science professions in medicine, nursing, dentistry, allied health, engineering, biomedical informatics, dietetics & nutrition and pharmacy.

·         Provide admission processes and other relevant information.

·         Introduce students to OHSU educational programs, faculty, facilities and resources.

·         Promote bicultural/bilingual prospective health and science providers.

 

REGISTRATION

Registration is a two step process.

1) Students must register online by February 12, 2010. Register for the conference

2) There will be an on-site $10.00 registration fee, which includes a catered lunch with current OHSU students, faculty and staff. Please bring cash, money order or check with you on February 19, 2010 

Optional: Parking passes are available for $10.00 at Marquam Hill Information Center 2815 SW Sam Jackson Park Rd (Near SW Terwilliger Blvd – bottom of the hill). Parking on campus is optional. Public transportation or carpooling is highly recommended.

Let's Get Healthy! Call for Volunteers

Let's Get Healthy! (formerly known as Nutrition World) will be holding a health fair on the dates listed below.  We are currently looking for volunteers for this highly popular, interactive, education and research exhibit.  We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds and currently have openings for morning and afternoon shifts.
