United Network for Organ Sharing
The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) helps transplant centers locate and share organs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. For nearly 30 years UNOS has maintained a database to track patients needing transplants, available organs, organ matching and completed transplants.
Oregon Health & Science University is a member of UNOS, a designated Transplant Center, and home to the Pacific Northwest Transplant Bank. Additionally, OHSU’s laboratory has been designated a UNOS Histocompatibility Laboratory. OHSU currently performs heart, kidney, liver, lung, pancreas, kidney/pancreas and heart/lung transplants.
