Perinatology Services
At OHSU Perinatology, providers who specialize in the care of high-risk pregnancies and maternal medical conditions are available to partner with you before, during and after your pregnancy .
We provide comprehensive prenatal care from conception through delivery. Our perinatologists also serve as consultants and may work with your current care provider to develop a management plan for your pregnancy. That means you can choose to have your current doctor or midwife continue to provide your care, in addition to the support you receive from our specialists.
A pregnancy may be considered high-risk if you:
- Are older than 35- or younger than 18-years of age.
- Have a pre-existing health condition such as asthma, heart disease or an infectious disease that could complicate a pregnancy.
- Have a history of high blood pressure or preeclampsia.
- Have a history of infertility.
- Are pregnant with multiples (twins, triplets, etc.).
- Have pre-existing or gestational diabetes.
- Have a history of premature labor and/or delivery.
- Have a history of pregnancy loss.
- Have or have had a pregnancy with a known birth defect or genetic condition.
