Why is this study being done?

We want to examine how well a mindfulness-based group therapy reduces psychiatric symptoms during pregnancy and postpartum and support babies' brain development and mothers bonding with their babies.

The purpose of this study is:

  • Promote well-being
  • Support mothers and babies bonding
  • Reduce stress
  • Support healthy fetal and infant brain development

Eligibility

  • Women between 18-40 years of age
  • 13-28 weeks pregnant
  • Have no metal in their body

Compensation

 Prescreener $10; Intake Interview $50; Pre-treatment and mid-treatment assessment $20 each; Mother hair and saliva sample $5 each (collected twice); Post-treatment assessment $30; Mother MRI visit $100; 1st infant MRI visit $100 and 2nd $70. Possible 3rd infant MRI visit $70; Infant hair and saliva sample $10. Total $420 with possible additional $70.
