The Department of Urology’s team of reconstructive specialists brings extensive training and experience to their practice in the diagnosis and treatment of all manner of urologic dysfunctions. At our high-volume referral center with particular expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques for treating these disorders, we are able to offer the very best in urologic care for a variety of issues including:

Our fellowship-trained surgeons are uniquely knowledgeable about even the most uncommon diagnoses, and offer personalized comprehensive treatments for each patient and their particular conditions. We partner closely with the Plastic Surgery department to care for patients who are undergoing gender affirming genital surgery.

John Barry in professional attire

Dr. John Barry, M.D. joined the urology faculty at OHSU in 1973, and has made significant contributions to the field of reconstructive urology. Responsible for placing the first inflatable penile prosthesis in the Pacific Northwest in 1975, Dr. Barry also developed the penoscrotal approach for this procedure in 1979. Additionally, he is responsible for creation of the corpus cavernosum to dorsal vein of penis shunt for priapism, and developed the novel testing method for nocturnal penile tumescence utilizing stamps in 1980. Dr. Barry specializes in both open and minimally invasive surgical treatment of reconstructive diagnoses.

Dugi

Dr. Daniel Dugi, III, M.D., F.A.C.S has specialized fellowship training in the areas of Trauma, Reconstructive Urology, and Prosthetics, and extensive experience treating urethral strictures, erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, male incontinence, and all manner of other reconstructive concerns. He utilizes both open and minimally invasive surgical techniques, with the goal of helping his patients return to living a healthy, active lifestyle as quickly as possible.

Dr. Kamran Sajadi, M.D. enjoys investigating and treating urinary incontinence, vaginal and uterine prolapse, and neuromodulation. His interest in pelvic medicine and women's health stems from his understanding that while these concerns can be difficult to talk about, they can have a significant impact on daily life and are important to address.

Dr. Jyoti Chouhan, DO, PharmD specializes in the management of urethral stricture disease, male stress urinary incontinence, fistulas of the urinary tract and male voiding dysfunction. These types of conditions can occur after treatment for prostate cancer or due to a variety of other reasons. In addition, she provides gender affirming surgeries and other reconstructive procedures including buried penis repair.

Dr. Geolani Dy, M.D. joins the OHSU faculty after completing her residency at the University of Washington, and fellowship training in the areas of Gender-affirming Genital Surgery, Robotic Surgery, Reconstructive Urology, and Prosthetics at New York University. Dr. Dy has focused her research on studying outcomes of Gender-affirming Genital Surgery for transgender- and non-binary-identifying individuals.

Dorian Scull, PA-C is a board certified Physician Assistant that will support patients in the Urology Transgender Health Program . They received their undergraduate degree in Biology from Portland State University and Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from OHSU.
