The pancreas transplant program has one of the highest rates of patient and graft survival in the country.

Pancreas transplantation is an option for diabetic patients with pancreas disease or those otherwise failing conventional therapy for diabetes management. The pancreas transplant program has one of the highest rates of patient and graft survival in the country according to the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients

Success rates include five-year patient and graft survival rates of 100 percent and more than 90 percent, respectively.

Laboratory of Immunogenetics and Transplantation

The Laboratory of Immunogenetics and Transplantation (LIT) performs histocompatibility testing in support of area transplant programs which include kidney, pancreas, heart, lung, liver, and bone marrow transplantation. OHSU Hospital and Clinics laboratories are accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), The Joint Commission, or other approved agencies.The laboratories also maintain current CLIA certification by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The laboratories are compliant with all applicable state and federal requirements.
