Spinal Fractures

The OHSU Spine Center offers a full range of treatments for spinal compression fractures. Our goal is to relieve your pain and prevent future fractures.

Spinal bones can break in an accident or injury. They can also break as they become weaker and more fragile with time. This is called a spinal compression fracture. When the bones of your spine become weak, even minor events or regular activities can cause them to collapse and break.

Spinal compression fractures are common in people with osteoporosis (brittle bones and bone loss).
