About me

After graduating from Stanford University, Dr. Petra Vajtai began her medical training at New York Medical College, where she received her medical degree in 2001. She then completed both a diagnostic radiology residency and a pediatric radiology fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University, subsequently joining the faculty in the rank of assistant professor of diagnostic radiology and pediatrics in 2007.

Dr. Vajtai has strong family ties to OHSU. Her mother, [Eugenia Szontagh], sister, Zsoka, and husband, Tyler, are also graduates of the diagnostic radiology residency. On the job, she specializes in pediatric imaging and is particularly interested in radiation dose reduction. She also loves teaching students, residents, fellows.

When not at work, Dr. Vajtai’s energy is devoted to her husband and their two beautiful daughters. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading and traveling with her family.

Dr. Vajtai is a member of the Society for Pediatric Radiology, American College of Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society, International Association of Radiologists, International Association of Healthcare Professionals, Oregon Medical Association, Radiological Society of North America.
