Biography
Ellen Tilden specializes in well-woman exams and gynecology, normal labor and group prenatal care. Ellen became a nurse-midwife because of her fascination with pregnancy and birth. She loves partnering with and serving women and their families during the process of pregnancy, birth and new motherhood. She also enjoys helping women with their reproductive concerns. It's very gratifying for Ellen to witness a child's first moments of life. She also enjoys working with OHSU's fantastic team of midwives, nurses and doctors. Ellen loves Portland and feels that it's the perfect place to raise her own kids. A lot of her family lives here, too. In her leisure time, Ellen loves being a mother, cooking, gardening, biking, traveling and spending time with her community of friends. PREGNANCY AND CHILDBIRTH PHILOSOPHY "For women with uncomplicated medical histories, pregnancy and birth are normal and healthy life processes. My job is to support these processes as well as recognize and address when pregnancy and birth become abnormal."
