Biography
Dr. Tibayan is an Assistant Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at OHSU. He performs surgery for patients with all types of adult cardiovascular disease, including coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, heart failure, and diseases of the thoracic aorta. Areas of particular clinical interest include valvular heart disease, minimally invasive heart surgery, and aortic disease. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on pathology and repair of the mitral valve and on physiology of the injured myocardium. His current research aims at better understanding and treatment of valvular heart disease, and remodeling and treatment of the failing heart.
