"Even the simplest of chest surgeries is complex. Being at OHSU means I get to work with a group of experts in
my field and offer the most advanced treatments available and still have time to sit and chat with patients and families and hear about how they’re doing."
Biography
Dr. Schipper does all types of general thoracic (chest and lung) surgery. He has a particular interest in lung and esophageal cancer, emphysema surgery and minimally invasive thoracic surgical techniques. He came to OHSU in 2004 to work with innovative surgeons and researchers as well as to teach residents his specialty. In his spare time, Dr. Schipper enjoys exploring the outdoors with his wife and two children on snow skis, mountain bikes, road bikes or on foot while hiking.
