"Women with breast problems usually have a high level of anxiety before coming for their visit. I try to decrease that anxiety as soon as I meet them in the waiting room."
Biography
Joan Laufer specializes in women's health and breast issues. She will see any woman with a breast problem that is not a known cancer. Some of the conditions she commonly helps patients with are breast lumps, nipple discharge, skin changes and pain. In any instance where cancer is detected, Joan works closely with OHSU's breast cancer specialists to make sure each patient is directed to the appropriate provider for continuing care. Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Joan is married and has two children.
