"Every patient experience is a learning opportunity for our whole healthcare team – from students to mentors. Collaborating with patients and providers using effective communication strategies makes practicing medicine rewarding, especially in an inter-disciplinary environment like the Center for Women’s Health."
Dr. Kelso is an Internist practicing primary care. She enjoys working with the full breadth of patients, from age 16 to 100+, with concerns ranging from preventative care to chronic illness such as diabetes and heart disease. She especially enjoys educating her patients so that they can make fully informed decisions about their own care, as well as collaborating with other providers to help manage the full spectrum of an individual patient’s conditions. She feels it’s a privilege to work in a university setting where she can help teach the next generation of providers (and learn from them, too!). As a former athlete and aerobics instructor, Dr. Kelso enjoys all things active in her spare time, especially chasing around her two young children. She loves exploring the beach and going for bike rides with her family. When she’s not reading to her kids during her downtime, she enjoys reading nonfiction and occasional jewelry making.
