"I am honored to be a family medicine physician with the opportunity to form relationships with my patients that can last a lifetime. I love the breadth of family medicine, which allows me to care from infants at the moment of birth, their mothers and fathers, and their grandparents."
I am a native Oregonian who is thrilled to be returning to the Portland area. I grew up near Beaverton and attended college at Whitman in Walla Walla, Washington. I was fortunate to study abroad in Spain for a semester while in college. I played violin throughout college, played and coached rugby, and spent as much time skiing as possible.
I received a Ph.D. at Stanford University in the field of genetics. During graduate school I came to the realization that I wanted to work directly with patients to help them improve their health, and decided to apply to medical school. I hope to continue to use my background in genetics to be able to work with patients and families with genetic conditions as a family medicine doctor.
I went to medical school at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where I very much enjoyed exploring the south and came to appreciate good barbeque. While in Atlanta I discovered my passion for providing primary care medicine. I feel honored for the opportunity to form relationships with patients that can last many years, and for the chance to learn more about my patients’ lives. I appreciate that the specialty of family medicine allows me to discuss with my patients the numerous factors that can influence their health, such as mental health, access to healthy foods, and exercise. I am particularly interested in women’s health and reproductive health, as well as obstetrics, pediatrics, and integrative medicine.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband and two young sons and will likely be frequenting the Oregon zoo, OMSI, numerous playgrounds, and soccer fields. Soon we hope to be found on Mt. Hood teaching the boys to ski.
