"“Previously working with various underserved populations, including many uninsured patients, refugee families, and migrant workers, I saw firsthand the impact of persistent disparities in healthcare. Now, I am eager to see how my experience at OHSU will shape me, both as a family physician and a catalyst for change in this world. My goal is to work meaningfully, stamping out inequity with compassionate care, innovative solutions, and passionate colleagues, and I can think of no better place than OHSU to do this.”"
Dr. Gilmore has a passion for working with underserved populations and hopes to reduce persistent disparities within the system through policy and education. To start, though, he believes that it is important to daily practice cultural competency, socioeconomic awareness, and above all, profound empathy with his patients. He loves family medicine because it allows him the opportunity to form meaningful relationships with individuals and families over time while dramatically impacting, and hopefully, improving their health. He is a counselor, friend, and coach at heart.
He is also overwhelmingly excited about this new adventure in the Pacific Northwest, which he is undertaking with his wife, Lindsay, who is a graphic designer. Together, they are constantly in search of more foot-stomping live music, delicious belly treats, inspiring conversation, and challenging new hikes.
