Paolo Gabriel was born in San Francisco and grew up in the Bay Area, where his family still resides. He received his B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology from UC Berkeley in 2007. As an undergrad, Paolo worked in his community hospital’s Radiology department, volunteered in Cal’s Sports Medicine clinic, and conducted research in structural biology. Paolo decided to explore the East coast and matriculated at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York where he developed an interest in Internal Medicine, learning from wonderful mentors. He became involved in clinical research in Cardiology, participating in multicenter trials as well as studies on the cardiovascular disease burden in the Bronx, prognostic biomarkers in myocardial ischemia and infarction, and physician-patient communication. He plans to pursue a career in Cardiovascular Medicine. Outside of work, Paolo enjoys playing golf, following the SF Giants, and spending time with family and friends.
