Elizabeth Lee was born and raised in Sacramento, California. She moved south to attend UCLA where she earned a BS in Biology and was a four year member of the university’s Division 1 rowing team, competing in three NCAA championship regattas. She embraced traveling in college, studying classical history in Rome and later conducting animal behavior field research in Kenya. Elizabeth moved to the east coast for medical school at Temple University in Philadelphia. There, she was drawn to academic medicine, serving as an orientation coordinator and student government representative. She also explored international health in Guatemala, working with the local population and learning Spanish. Her proudest achievement was writing the curriculum and implementing a new Palliative Care and Hospice Medicine elective aimed at first and second year students, which had its inaugural run in Spring 2011. For the future, Elizabeth envisions a career in academic medicine while addressing issues of end?of?life care either through Palliative Care or Pulmonary/Critical Care. Outside of medicine, she enjoys running, camping, cooking, trying new restaurants and playing board games.
