Steven Disharoon was born and raised around Richmond, VA. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University for his undergraduate education and graduated with a B.S. in Psychology. From there, he pursued his medical education at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. Steven has always been interested in academics and teaching, being involved as a Resident Assistant for four years and being a teaching assistant for multiple courses. He recently solidified his interest in academic medicine when he helped lead a second year medical course in the foundations of clinical medicine and acted as a member of VCU SOM’s admissions committee. He is unsure of his ultimate career goals, but would definitely like to end up in academia. Steve’s interests outside of medicine include cooking (both Southern and healthy food), baking, hiking, exploring the outdoors, and working out.
