Nate Baer hails from sunny Richland, Washington. He attended Cornell University, where he majored in Development Sociology and studied the role of economic and health care structures on individual health. After graduation, he worked as a research assistant in Cornell’s nutrition department before pursuing a degree in Medical Anthropology in New Zealand, where his thesis focused on the patient experience of dietary modification in severe illness. Finally, he attended the University of Washington School of Medicine, where he developed an interest in primary care medicine. When not working with patients, he enjoys running, hiking, soccer, vegetable gardening, cooking, global travel, and spending time with his wife and their dogs.
