Dr. Leitenberger is a fellowship trained dermatologic surgeon who treats skin cancer, including melanoma, and provides minimally invasive cosmetic and laser surgery. As a skin cancer surgeon, Dr. Leitenberger is trained in Mohs microscopic surgery and reconstruction, which is an advanced technique that provides the highest cure rate of any skin cancer surgery, largely for basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Mohs surgery is performed in the office using local anesthesia.
Dr. Leitenberger also is co-director of the OHSU Skin Clinic for Transplant Recipients which provides comprehensive and coordinated care for patients at high risk for skin cancer. This includes solid organ transplant recipients, patients on long-term immunosuppression, and other patients with an increased risk of skin cancer, such as those with a genetic predisposition to skin cancer.
Dr. Leitenberger enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, tennis and other outdoor activities.
