"Until recently, society and science have largely ignored the third of our lives devoted to sleep. I enjoy using my broad training and background to attend to this “forgotten third of life” and the subsequent improvements in my patients’ health and welfare are truly rewarding."
I completed a sleep disorders fellowship that provided broad training and exposure to all aspects of sleep disorders medicine. This included extensive training in state of the art evaluation and treatment for uncommon disorders such as narcolepsy, cyclic hypersomnias, and complex forms of apnea. It also included research and clinical training in methods for exceeding the current standard of care for the diagnosis and treatment of common disorders causing sleepiness and obstructive sleep apnea. Since 2006 I have dedicated 100% of my clinical practice and research to sleep disorders medicine. I work closely with dentists and surgeons for the benefit of my apnea patients to ensure we tailor an optimum treatment pathway for each patient dependant on the individual’s preferences, type of sleep apnea and unique circumstances.
I enjoy direct patient care, research and teaching related to sleep medicine. My daughters think my obsessive enthusiasm about sleep is hilarious! In my free time I enjoy golf, guitar, skiing, cycling, and most of all time spent with family.
