"I really enjoy the specialty of Genetics as one that looks at a whole person as well as their family members. As a genetic counselor, helping people by providing important medical information and resources about rarely known genetic disease and addressing how such conditions impact the patient and their family on an emotional level is both personally and professionally rewarding."
Genetic counselors are masters level health care professionals trained to provide information and support to people who have, or may be at risk for, genetic disorders. As part of the OHSU clinical genetics team, Ms. Kushner provides genetic counseling services to children and adult patients with a wide variety of genetic conditions.Personally, Ms. Kushner enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exploring the Pacific NW, reading, music, and gardening.
