"I feel privileged to be entrusted with the care of special needs children and their families.  Diagnosing and managing a rare disease, providing genetic counseling which allows families to turn their “chances to choices”, looking out for them to avoid or attenuate possible complications that come with a genetic condition and offering treatments that apply are the things that make my profession worth doing. I have also contributed to the development of pharmaceutical therapeutics of GLP-2 and Myozyme."

Dr. Tsai specializes in caring for children with birth defects, developmental concerns and family history of rare and inheritable diseases. She has been a dysmorphologist and a Clinical Geneticist in Denver with the University of Colorado for 13 years. Dr. Tsai enjoys making diagnoses of rare diseases and developing special relationships with special needs children and their families as she provides anticipatory guidance in follow-up care. Dr. Tsai is also interested in clinical trial and clinical research. She has contributed to the development of the pharmaceutical therapeutics of GLP-2 and Myozyme in treating short gut syndromes and infantile Pompe disease.

In her spare time, Dr. Tsai enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband who is a Medical Molecular Geneticist and her son who is a teenage musician. Between piano/violin lessons, ensembles, ski, speech and debate team competitions, her child’s schedule keeps her very busy. When she does get some time to herself, she enjoys traveling, reading, skiing and playing the piano and violin.
