Special Interest:
Arthritis & Rheumatic Diseases
Accepting Patients:

"Rheumatologic diseases can be very challenging to diagnose, but making those diagnoses and providing symptomatic relief through appropriate treatment is very gratifying.  I enjoy the long-term care of patients with these often mysterious-sounding diseases, and helping the patients and their families better understand the illness and its management."

Dr Kahl specializes in the care of people with arthritis and systemic autoimmune diseases. She has more than 30 years’ experience in this field, and has received many awards for both her clinical skills and her work in educating medical students, residents and rheumatology fellows. She enjoys helping patients enhance their quality of life.

In addition to her work in Rheumatology, at OHSU Dr Kahl is an associate dean working primarily in the area of faculty development, which includes helping faculty find and grow skills and tools to make their work more successful and fulfilling. Outside the office, Dr Kahl enjoys cooking, music, and the great outdoors, and she is an avid fan of crossword puzzles.
