Susan Tran, M.D.
- Perinatology, OB/GYN
- Special Interest:
- Accepting Patients:
"Caring for women with high-risk pregnancies and seeing them through to healthy births is an incredibly rewarding experience for me. I can't imagine a more stimulating and rewarding profession."
Dr. Tran specializes in pregnancy care for women with complex medical issues or chronic conditions that may require additional care during pregnancy, such as diabetes. She enjoys caring for the whole patient and the challenge of caring for two (sometimes more!) patients at once. She finds her greatest satisfaction from guiding women who might not otherwise be able to safely have children through healthy pregnancies and deliveries.
Dr. Tran was born in Vietnam but immigrated to the USA when she was 2 years old. After living most of her life in California, she came to Portland along with her husband who is also a perinatologist at OHSU.
During her spare time, she enjoys cooking, attending the theater and symphony, and spending time with her husband and four young kids.
PREGNANCY AND CHILDBIRTH PHILOSOPHY:
"My philosophy is simple: healthy mom and healthy baby. I encourage my patients to be actively involved in their care and want women to have safe pregnancies and deliveries in which their preferences are honored."
