"The intricate design of the human eye has always fascinated me. It's a privilege to be involved in a team effort where the results of intervention are so visible and tangible. Recent technological advances have made cataract surgery even safer and predictable, and Casey Eye Institute is committed to the highest quality outcomes in eye surgery."
Dr. Gradin grew up in the Portland area. He volunteered for 11 years at Kikuyu Hospital, near Nairobi, Kenya, where he worked alongside Kenyan colleagues in building a program for high volume cataract surgery in adults and children, and he participated in surgical outreaches to remote rural areas and refugee camps. He is working at the Casey Eye satellite clinics in Longview and Astoria, where he specializes in cataract surgery with intraocular lens placement, and medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma.
