Biography

Dr. Chen is a specialist in blood cancer, particularly lymphoma. His research focuses on clinical trials of new therapies for lymphoma, and he is the faculty leader for the clinical research group at the OHSU Center for Hematologic Malignancies.

He has been recognized as a “Top Doctor” by Portland Monthly magazine and gives numerous talks around Oregon on lymphoma for patients, staff, physicians and organizations such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. As disclosure, Dr. Chen does work with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, but any and all personal compensation is donated to lymphoma-related charities.

After college at Yale, he went to Harvard for his medical degree and Ph.D. He then completed his residency and fellowship at Stanford University. When not at work, Dr. Chen is usually outside running along the river or exploring the Pacific Northwest with his moderately well behaved – but very happy - Labrador retriever.
