About me

I specialize in evaluating bone and soft tissue abnormalities. This extends beyond just cancer. I treat patients who have unusual X-ray or MRI findings, genetic abnormalities, infections and broken bones that require specialized treatment. I also do surgery for cancer and non-cancerous tumors. I treat patients of all ages. So far, my youngest patient was two months old and my oldest was 102. I enjoy working with patients to diagnose their problems and then setting up a treatment plan. I see many of my patients after treatment, either because we are watching for the return of a tumor or because we need to make sure they do not have problems with a reconstructive surgery over the years. This gives me a chance to get to know each person as an individual, beyond their medical problems.

In my spare time I like to be involved in athletics. I consider myself a distance runner and a swimmer, and am very active in USA swimming. I am a nationally certified official and travel throughout Oregon and Washington volunteering at swim meets. I have also built several cedar strip kayaks, and enjoy kayaking with my family.

Insurance

Before scheduling your appointment, we recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any copayments, co–insurance, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Visit the billing and insurance section of our site for more information.
