"My care philosophy is to listen, to explain and to educate. Patients want to know what their options are so that they can make the best choices for themselves, their condition and their daily lives."
Biography
Dr. Edwards specializes in surgical and conservative treatment of urinary incontinence and treats various types of pelvic organ prolapse conditions using surgical and minimally invasive surgical techniques. She likes taking time with each patient in order to fully understand her condition and how it impacts her daily life so that they can decide on a treatment together. She also enjoys seeing the successful results of the intervention that she partnered with a patient to choose. After growing up and studying medicine in the Midwest, Dr. Edwards moved to Portland in 1999 after being in practice in Chicago for four years. She came to OHSU to grow the Urogynecology Division, which only had one provider at the time. When she's not at work, Dr. Edwards enjoys seeing her sons play hockey, shopping with her daughter and watching movies or singing with all her kids.
