Biography
Katie grew up outside of Dallas, Texas where her family still resides. She attended the University of Texas for her undergraduate education. Following college, she worked with adolescents with learning disabilities as a teacher. Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center called her to West Texas for medical school for a unique experience in both rural and border medicine. She is very excited about moving to Portland and living in a new state for the first time! She has special interests in women’s health, preventive medicine, global health, and chronic illness. After spending time in El Paso, Nicaragua, and Belize, she hopes to continue working with Spanish-speaking patients. Outside of medicine she enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, cooking (and eating!), and listening to live music.
