She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame. After graduation, she volunteered for a year with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Helena, MT. Prior to entering nursing, she did hospice and Red Cross work, as well as health policy work for the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services. Dr. Casey graduated with her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate in nursing from Oregon Health & Science University. She has worked as a cardiac-surgical ICU nurse for the past 7 years while completing her graduate studies. Recently, she completed postgraduate work at the University of Washington and plans to develop a general internal medicine practice with a focus in geriatrics. She is board certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner and also licensed as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, specializing in Geriatrics.
