Biography
Dr. Bascom is a member of the OHSU Palliative Medicine and Comfort Care Team. This team serves patients with serious and life-threatening illnesses at OHSU Hospital. The team provides guidance to patients, families and their medical teams to reduce patients’ discomfort and improve their quality of life. Dr. Bascom served for many years as a primary care physician and as medical director of Legacy Hospice and Hopewell House Hospice Center. He now devotes his professional activities full-time to palliative care. Dr. Bascom speaks Spanish fluently and enjoys singing and outdoor recreation. He is the father of three daughters.
