PGY1 / PGY2 HEALTH-SYSTEM PHARMACY ADMINISTRATION / MS HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT
This residency is a two year program designed to provide concentrated training in clinical practice and the administration of health-system pharmacy. The resident will obtain advanced knowledge in clinical practice and expertise in pharmacy administration, management, and leadership activities.
- Complete PGY1 program requirements
- Develop skills in information technology, automation, and project management
- Participate in medication safety programming and development
- Build human resource skills by taking the pharmacy administrator on-call pager and managing the intern program
- Precept Doctor of Pharmacy clerkship students and participate in academic activities
- Understand senior management and strategy
- Gain exposure to contract and supply chain management
- Conduct leadership and managerial activities within ambulatory, inpatient, and outpatient operations, including specialty pharmacy services
- Longitudinal participation in financial management activities including billing, budgeting, and reimbursement
- Develop an advanced understanding of clinical operations
- Complete a two-year Master of Science in Healthcare Management Degree or Masters of Business Administration
