Collaboration With Mid-Columbia Medical Center
In a continuing effort to expand subspeciality physician/surgical care to the Mid-Columbia region, OHSU and Mid-Columbia Medical Center have developed a joint program in Cardiovascular Diseases and have named David Guarraia MD, MS, as the first full-time cardiologist to live and serve in The Dalles community.
He joins Mark Hattenhauer, MD, who currently maintains an OHSU outreach cardiovascular clinic in the community. The cardiovascular medicine division at OHSU is providing outreach at the Dalles in collaboration with the Mid Columbia Medical Center and clinics. Dr. Hattenhauer, Assistant Professor of Medicine at OHSU, completed medical school, residency, and fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at OHSU. He was the first cardiologist in Oregon to perform percutaneous coronary angioplasty and has trained many cardiologists in the state regarding the use of the procedure.
