Residency Training

The residency training program offered by the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine is a full accredited, five-year residency program covering the entire field of Otolaryngology. Directed by Mark K. Wax, MD, the program offers a curriculum covering the surgical, clinical, and research areas of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery.

Our program consists of one year of general surgery (PGY-1) taken at this institution, followed by four years of Otolaryngology. The surgical positions are assured for applicants accepted to the program, with no additional application necessary.

Three residents are appointed to the program each year. Residents are assured of receiving close instruction by our team of clinical faculty and research members.
