Referring Patients to the OHSU Tinnitus Clinic
If you are a physician interested in referring a patient to the OHSU Tinnitus Clinic, please call Huong at 503 494-7954 to schedule a first appointment. Medical records should be faxed to 503 494-5656 prior to the appointment. Pertinent medical records should include any chart notes or audiograms you may have for the patient.
Once you call us with the initial referral, our clinic will contact the patient and gather insurance information. Insurance must be verified prior to scheduling the appointment.

William Hal Martin, Ph.D.
Dr Martin is a Professor of Otolaryngology who came to OHSU after 12 years at Temple University in Philadelphia as the Director of Audiology, Neuromonitoring and of the Garfield Auditory Research Laboratory, a program dedicated to Tinnitus Research.
Medical Director / Otolaryngologist
Baker Shi, M.D., Ph.D.Yong Bing "Baker" Shi, M.D., Ph.D. received his medical degree and completed residency training in China. He was a Post-Doc Research Fellow at Temple University from 1992-94, focusing on cochlear physiology. After practicing as an otolaryngologist in China for a number of years, he joined the Department of Otolaryngology at OHSU in 1998 and is now an Assistant Professor. He has successfully passed US licensure tests and is licensed to practice medicine in the State of Oregon. He has been providing care for patients in the OHSU Tinnitus Clinic for more than a decade. He also provides care for patients with voice disorders in the NW Center for Voice and Swallowing. His research interests are cochlear physiology, new tinnitus treatments and prevention of noise-induced hearing loss.

Dr Martin is a clinical audiologist who specializes in tinnitus evaluation and treatment, intraoperative neural monitoring, and research.

Mary Meikle, Ph.D.
Dr .Meikle was a Professor of Otolaryngology and Medical Psychology with more than 25 years of tinnitus research experience. She was the Founder and Project Director of the Tinnitus Data Archive and Registry program. Dr Meikle passed away recently, and will be greatly missed.
Susan Griest, M.P.H.
Dr Griest is the Senior Research Associate, and is a Public Health Specialist with more than 15 years of experience working with tinnitus patients as a member of the Tinnitus Data Archive and Registry Program.
Tinnitus Archive
The Tinnitus Archive is a resource created by Mary Meikle, PhD to provide professionals with quantitative information about clinically-significant tinnitus (ringing or other noises in the ears or head). The Archive was set up to provide statistical summaries concerning the characteristics of large groups of tinnitus patients in the Tinnitus Data Registry.

Clinic hours (pacific coast time - USA) are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday
We are located on the OHSU Marquam Hill Campus in the Hatfield Research Center (HRC)
