About the Tinnitus Clinic and Our Activities

 The OHSU Tinnitus Clinic has provided continuous, specialized care for people with tinnitus since 1976. Our comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach identifies and addresses medical, psychological and hearing needs that contribute to tinnitus severity. We work closely with community and OHSU doctors and other involved family and medical personnel to insure continuity of care during the creation of a tinnitus management plan.

We also provide evaluation and care for other unusual hearing disorders including hyperacusis (extreme sensitivity to sound), phonophobia (fear of sound), and misophonia (extreme sensitivity to very specific sounds, often associated with anxiety disorders).

Outreach

If you are an educator or provider interested in having a presentation about hearing loss or hearing loss prevention, please give us a call and/or check out the Dangerous Decibels program. Dangerous Decibels is a public health project partnering Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), along with the Portland VA National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research and the American Tinnitus Association.
