Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring Services
The OHSU Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring service provides surgical teams with support and monitoring for a number of procedures. Below is a list of some of the procedures we monitor. - Cerebral tumor resection
- Functional cortical mapping, sensory/motor strop identification
- Electrocorticography, cortical stimulation with Ojemann stimulator, Somatosensory EPs
- Brainstem and skull base tumor resection
- Brainstem function, hearing preservation, cranial nerve
- Auditory brainstem responses, auditory nerve CAP testing, cranial nerve EMG, Somatosensory EPs
- Microvascular decompression
- Cranial nerve function
- Auditory brainstem responses, auditory nerve cap testing, cranial nerve EMG
- Aneurysm repair
- Brainstem, midbrain, and cortical function monitoring
- Auditory brainstem responses, Somatosensory EPs
- vestibular nerve section
- Vestibular nerve identification, hearing preservation, cranial nerve function
- Auditory brainstem response, bipolar recording of vestibular and acoustic VIII nerve CAP, cranial nerve EMG
- Spinal cord tumor resection
- Ascending and descending cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral spinal pathways. Nerve root function and pedicle screw placement verification
- Somatosensory EPs, Transcranial Motor EPs, continuous EMG, pedicle screw electrical stimulation and EMG
- Dorsal rhizotomy
- Nerve root identification and evaluation
- Lower extremity evoked EMG
- Peripheral nerve exploration and repair
- Brachial plexus and peripheral nerve integrity and conduction velocity
- Nerve conduction velocity using hook electrodes, Somatosensory EPs
- Cardiothoracic surgery, Mediastinoscopy
