Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring Services

The OHSU Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring service provides surgical teams with support and monitoring for a number of procedures. Below is a list of some of the procedures we monitor.   • Cerebral tumor resection
  • Functional cortical mapping, sensory/motor strop identification
  • Electrocorticography, cortical stimulation with Ojemann stimulator, Somatosensory EPs
  • Brainstem and skull base tumor resection
  • Brainstem function, hearing preservation, cranial nerve
  • Auditory brainstem responses, auditory nerve CAP testing, cranial nerve EMG, Somatosensory EPs
  • Microvascular decompression
  • Cranial nerve function
  • Auditory brainstem responses, auditory nerve cap testing, cranial nerve EMG
  • Aneurysm repair
  • Brainstem, midbrain, and cortical function monitoring
  • Auditory brainstem responses, Somatosensory EPs
  • vestibular nerve section
  • Vestibular nerve identification, hearing preservation, cranial nerve function
  • Auditory brainstem response, bipolar recording of vestibular and acoustic VIII nerve CAP, cranial nerve EMG
  • Spinal cord tumor resection
  • Ascending and descending cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral spinal pathways. Nerve root function and pedicle screw placement verification
  • Somatosensory EPs, Transcranial Motor EPs, continuous EMG, pedicle screw electrical stimulation and EMG
  • Dorsal rhizotomy
  • Nerve root identification and evaluation
  • Lower extremity evoked EMG
  • Peripheral nerve exploration and repair
  • Brachial plexus and peripheral nerve integrity and conduction velocity
  • Nerve conduction velocity using hook electrodes, Somatosensory EPs
  • Cardiothoracic surgery, Mediastinoscopy
