Doernbecher Children's Hospital

Pulmonary and Cystic Fibrosis Research Program

The OHSU Pediatric Pulmonary Division is responsible for care, teaching, and research in the area of childhood lung disease. Our major areas of concentration include children with cystic fibrosis, asthma, pneumonia, muscle diseases, interstitial lung disease, BPD, and sleep disorders. Currently the division includes three faculty and will be adding a fourth member the fall of 2009. We provide diagnostic and treatment services for children with lung diseases from Oregon and southwest Washington, including a dedicated Pediatric Pulmonary Function Laboratory and flexible bronchoscopy services. We also provide telephone consulting services to physicians and allied health providers from the region. The OHSU Cystic Fibrosis Center is the only nationally approved CF program serving Oregon and southwest Washington.

In addition to the faculty the division enjoys the services provided by our Nurse Clinician Ben McCullar, Administrative Coordinator Robyn Erickson, Research Coordinator Aaron Guzik, Nutritionist Pat Rose, Social Workers Wendy Palmrose and Emily Somervell, and Respiratory Therapist Kim Keeling.
