Pediatric Residency Program

OHSU Pediatric Residency Program

Welcome to the Pediatric Residency Training Program at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. We are excited that you are considering us as a choice for your residency training!

Our Pediatric Residency Program is a robust medium sized training program with a long history of excellence, which contributes to Doernbecher Children's Hospital's reputation as an outstanding clinical, teaching, and research hospital in the Pacific Northwest. Our program philosophy is work hard, learn hard, and play hard and this philosophy guides everything we do. We have designed a curriculum that includes longitudinal exposure to both general pediatrics and subspecialty medicine throughout training. We provide exceptional exposure to ambulatory general pediatrics as well as all the core pediatric subspecialties. Our unique rotation schedule allows for every resident to have exposure to every subspecialty without having to utilize elective time. The individualized curriculum is guided by program leadership and faculty and allows residents to explore career opportunities as well as to fine tune areas of weakness or interest for the residents. When you put all this together, we are able to graduate very well-balanced pediatricians who have autonomous clinical decision making and lifelong learning skills who are ready to move to the next step of their career whether it be community or academic, general or subpecialty. We hope that, after you see what OHSU has to offer in pediatric training, you will consider us as one of your top choices for residency.
