Services: The best children’s hospitals offer the widest array of services. OHSU Doernbecher offers more treatments and a wider range of health care services to more children than any other hospital in the region. Our outreach specialty clinics also bring Doernbecher care and treatments to communities throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Reputation: Doctors around the country think well of us: Pediatric specialists across the nation ranked us as one of the hospitals where they would send their sickest patients.

How the research works

For the 2012-13 rankings, U.S. News surveyed 178 pediatric centers to obtain clinical data in 10 specialties and asked 1,500 doctors in each pediatric specialty where they would send the sickest children.

The annual rankings in U.S. News & World Report’s 2012-13 Best Children’s Hospitals feature 50 hospitals in each of 10 pediatric specialties: cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, neonatology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology and urology.
