OHSU Executive Leadership Team (ELT) supports has developed a number of advisory councils, committees and groups to shape policies and procedures that match OHSU's diversity vision and strategic goals. Included are the University's Diversity Advisory Council (DAC), Physical Access Committee, Women in Academic Health and the Healthcare Cultural Advocacy Team. Dedicated OHSU community members work towards advancing diversity and inclusion at OHSU to meet the needs of those we serve.
OHSU sponsors an employee resource group, OHSU Pride, which has been active on campus since 2007. OHSU Pride fosters an inclusive environment that promotes lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer wellness, education, research and advocacy within and across OHSU and the community. Building for the future, they plan to track and assess the experiences of LGBTQI employees, students, and patients in order to make recommendations on best practices for patient care, employee retention, and cultural competency curriculum.
