Associate Director of Medical Physics, Radiation Medicine
I have been the director of Medical Physics and an assistant professor at OHSU’s Department of Radiation Medicine since 2008. My main motivation for joining the CAT was my strong interest in cultural diversity and inclusion in our workplaces, but also with our patients.
Having moved here from Germany myself I do recognize the challenges we often face as a result of dealing with coworkers and patients of diverse cultural backgrounds. Through my work with the CAT I have been given the opportunity to help support initiatives such as cultural education events and tools such as CultureVision, which I am convinced will help improve cross-cultural communication and teamwork at OHSU. This is crucial if we want to work in a positive work environment and provide good and safe patient care.
My professional interests include the safe implementation of modern technology in medicine. I enjoy road bicycling, photography and my family.
