Bilingual Registrar, Outpatient Registration Services

Mary Goodwin
I currently work as a bilingual registrar for Outpatient Registration Services. I speak Spanish and Portuguese and have lived and worked in Central America, Brazil and Mexico. After my two years in the Peace Corps in Honduras, I knew I wanted to continue to be involved with outreach to Latino communities. Since coming back to Oregon, I have worked as a medical interpreter for 12 years, and have served Spanish speaking clients in various capacities in every professional position I have held. I continue to look for opportunities to advocate for this community and other less advantaged communities in our area. That was the reason I was so interested in becoming a member of the Cultural Advocacy Team at OHSU. It truly is a group of people who are dedicated to strengthening and expanding the many positive benefits of a robust diversity presence at OHSU and beyond. Outside of work, I enjoy singing with samba groups and spending as much time in sunny places as possible.
