The Digestive Health Center offers both laparoscopic and open surgical approaches to gastric bypass surgery. The Roux-en-Y divided gastric bypass is performed by laparoscopic or traditional open technique.

OHSU bariatric surgeons offer the gastric banding (“Lap-Band”) for stomach reduction only. Our nurse practitioners, nutritionist, psychologist and surgeons conduct a complete patient evaluation to determine if surgery is necessary and to ensure successful outcomes.
